Radar Plumbing can provide the plumbing and drainage for any renovation be it commercial or domestic.

Blocked Drains

Do you have a blocked drain? One of the ways you can tell your drain is blocked or about to block could be water levels in the toilet rising when flushing or, you may hear a gurgling sound coming from your kitchen or bathroom. If it is your stormwater system, water may be pooling in the yard or you may have gutters overflowing. Blocked drains are often fixed by using our high-pressure water jet machines. We also provide time stamped CCTV footage of the blockage as part of our service.

Flood prevention

The past years have proven that we are not all prepared for the amount of water that can build up on our land. We have set out on many occasions to mitigate flood water as well as surface water runoff from your usual downpour. Pits, grates, dams, levies, and drains can all relieve storm and flood water when installed with a management plan. We are here to help you create that plan and protect your land from flood waters.

Mini Excavator

Radar Plumbing can provide excavation services in areas where access is usually a problem. We can get our mini-Kubota excavator through gaps as narrow as 770mm. Don't accept that the job requires manual labour until you have called us! We provide wet hire as well as plumbers when required.

Sewer

Sewer systems are arguably the most important systems of all. If they fail, you need a plumber fast. Whether it is a blocked sewer, new sewer, or a repair of the existing sewer we have you covered.

Stormwater

Stormwater management is highly beneficial for houses, especially those located along the Central Coast. As a plumbing company serving the Central Coast region, Radar Plumbing recognises the positive impact of effective stormwater management on houses.

Here are several reasons why it's good for houses in our area:

  • Flood Prevention: Proper stormwater management systems, such as gutters, downspouts, and drainage solutions, help prevent flooding inside and around houses on the Central Coast during heavy rainfall and storms.

  • Foundation Protection: By directing stormwater away from the foundation, proper management helps safeguard houses against erosion and structural damage, ensuring a stable and resilient foundation.

  • Preventing Water Damage: Efficient stormwater management prevents water intrusion into houses, protecting interiors, walls, and valuable possessions from water damage.

  • Reducing Mold and Mildew: Adequate stormwater management helps maintain dry conditions inside houses, reducing the risk of mould and mildew growth in the Central Coast's humid climate.

  • Preserving Indoor Air Quality: Effective stormwater management prevents moisture buildup and maintains good indoor air quality for residents along the Central Coast.

  • Protecting Plumbing Systems: By reducing the risk of water backups and drainage issues, stormwater management helps preserve the integrity of plumbing systems in houses.

  • Enhancing Property Value: Proper stormwater management contributes to the overall well-being and appearance of houses, increasing their market value in the Central Coast real estate market.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Radar Plumbing encourages regular stormwater system inspections and maintenance to prevent potential issues, ensuring long-term protection for houses. Ask us about creating a personalised maintenance plan for you.

  • Resilience to Climate Events: Houses with effective stormwater management are better prepared to withstand future storms and extreme weather events, ensuring the safety and comfort of residents along the Central Coast.

  • Sustainable Living: Emphasising stormwater management promotes eco-friendly practices and aligns with the Central Coast's commitment to environmental preservation and sustainability.

  • Community Well-being: By collectively practicing responsible stormwater management, houses on the Central Coast contribute to the overall well-being and safety of the local community. You also lessen the water damage to your neighbours.

In-ground Stormwater Drainage – Agricultural Drainage Systems

In-ground stormwater systems, such as agricultural drains, can be highly effective in protecting houses along the Central Coast. As a plumbing company serving the Central Coast region, Radar Plumbing understands the value of these systems for house protection. Here's how an agricultural drainage system is done.

Agricultural drains serve to remove the water that flows over the surface as well as under the soil within the trench's depth. It achieves this by steering water into a trench filled with blue metal or a similar aggregate with an agricultural drain located in the base. The agi pipe itself comes wrapped in a Geotech fabric to stop silt making its way into the system. It is a good idea to wrap the entirety of the blue metal and agricultural drain in an additional layer of Geotech fabric as this keeps the blue metal trench from filling with silt over time and maintains its functionality for as long as possible.

It is important that the trench is created with natural fall so that water can be guided to a collection point. Without fall the trench will hold water and not serve the purpose of taking water away from the desired area. The system needs to remain at least half a metre away from footings and piers if possible.

The trench can run into a pit where water can be collected and redirected into the existing drainage system. The drain requires minimal maintenance to remain efficient. Our only recommendation is to clean out the storm water pits every few months that the drains connect into.
