Rudolf Steiner School – Fire Services Upgrade
Location: Fountaindale, NSW
With growing student numbers comes the need for enhanced safety infrastructure. The Rudolf Steiner School in Fountaindale required a significant fire services upgrade to support its expanding campus, and Radar Services—working alongside TJ Nielsen Building—was fortunate enough to secure the tender for these works.
Our scope included installing a new 125 mm Redline fire service fed from an upgraded hydrant assembly, with multiple new hydrant connection points positioned throughout the school to protect the newly built classrooms. More than 250 m of pipework was installed, traversing key areas of the school, including the main oval.
To minimise disruption and preserve the school grounds, we utilised non-destructive installation methods such as boring beneath driveways and pathways, avoiding unnecessary excavation. The oval was carefully reinstated and re-turfed, and all fire systems were installed, tested, and commissioned within the strict two-week school holiday period.
The successful completion of this project provided the fire protection capacity required for future development applications, enabling the school to continue increasing its enrolment numbers and plan confidently for long-term growth.
